Hard time communicating? Apply FAST
Friday, April 28, 2006 @ 7:46 PM

I realised that some SE methods and techniques seem so generic. You can simply apply them in your everyday life. For example, if you have a hard time communicating with your boyfriend/parent, you apply FAST.

What is FAST? Facilitated Application Specification Technique.

Here is a brief outline of the steps involved:

1. Assemble relevant people in a specific area. Good to have things like flip board, white/black board. Must have a facilitator to steer the meeting (if either one can't be cool about the whole discussion, nvm. Just hire a therapist to steer the meeting lor).

2. Have a controlled discussion. (No fights! Must be civilized).

3. Arrive at an agreement. (Here is the magic word, AGREEMENT)

So funny...the above technique is just like any other thing we do everyday. How come it's suddenly tagged with a silly name? Errmm.....maybe I should create a "new" technique too and name it above me. For eg., McCall's SQF, Booch class diagram etc. Hey hey hey, then my name will grace the pages of many books. Ok....so I shall call it Kris's..eh no..must be unique. Huana's Paradigm of How to be firm and say NO, or Huana's Paradigm of Choice Vs Consequence. Must be generic too, so can be applied to anything.
