Ecstatic over Bento
Tuesday, April 04, 2006 @ 4:20 PM

Here is a story of 2 crazy women and 1 not so crazy one and completely ignored by the other 2.

It was revision day on Sunday so I had to go back to school. Anyway, it was a boring session. The lecturer speed of teaching was too slow. Felt like I was "dragged along". So the only thing that kept us going was the 2 snack breaks and lunch break we have.

My 2 girlfriends and I were walking towards the lift that will take us to Megabitez when we saw a lady walking towards us with a bag of bentos. You can recognise that it was bento by the colour and the shape of the boxes. We got so excited. "Bento! There's bento? Where did she get it?"

We arrived at Megabitez and saw the Bentos!!! Oh...KC and I were so ecstatic we walked hurriedly towards the queue. We even walked past a classmate and peeked into her bento juz to check what's in it. Then we proceeded to the queue with our BAGS!!! Well..KC was in front, I was behind her. Then our other girlfriend Ivy keep saying to us, "Haven't find seat. Haven't find seat. Need to put down our bags." Oh no, we completely ignored her although we heard her. Then I paused for a moment and heed her advice. I simply dump my bag on the seat next to the queue. KC went "Oh..." and she did the same thing. Then we joined the queue.

Haa..then got our bentos and our seats. We started reflecting on what just happened and started laughing. Well...it was silly and embarrassing that we were going to queue with our bags. We probably looked like people who have not eaten for days! But we have always been so crazy about food especially if it's something new. We even confessed to each other that we were actually not hungry. And I was gonna have an 8-course dinner with my family that evening so usually I wouldn't take my lunch. But new dish is so alluring that I can't resist the temptation.

*Bento is a Japanese word for set meal. Usually served in a specially-designed container with compartments for the various dishes in the meal.
