Children's Day - STOMP
Sunday, October 02, 2005 @ 9:39 PM

Spend Children's Day yesterday with my cousin. We're not kids anymore, hee. We went to catch Stomp! It was in town for only 8 shows (I think). It was my treat. Yaya...kinda created a BIG BIG hole in my savings, but it doesn't matter. Treat it as a celebration of our exam results! Anyway, I wanted to catch it for a long time. Better not miss the opportunity or else I might regret it.

Ermm...the show was not bad. I actually enjoyed Cirque Du Soliel more. However, they are completely different performances. Stomp was all about percussions. They used things such as brooms, mops, buckets, pipes (created a sound which I like in particular), pots and pans, matchboxes, newspapers, lighters, and even kitchen sinks!!! All well coordinated with their feet (impressive!). What I enjoyed most!!! Was the venue. It was my first time catching a performance at the esplanade. Love the place!!! The sound system was much better compared to the Indoor Stadium or Kallang Theatre. Never truly liked the Indoor Stadium becoz it's too open. The esplanade theatre is much more enclosed, so the surrounding sound is definitely better. Classy place too! The audience there are much more dressed up. Even the ushers were dressed up! In mandarin-collar suits. They were extremely attentive, guiding the audience from the entrance all the way to the seats. I was truly impressed.

Took photos of the place after the show but was warned by the usher. I know that we are not allowed to take photos during the show but it wouldn't matter if we took photos of the stage after the show. Hmm...no idea. Took our leave after that.

Back to reality, start saving again for any upcoming good production in town. None so far but shall keep a look out at the sistic website. Oh yes!!! Waiting for my mom to get complimentry tickets to the Singapore Music Awards'05 (if there is)!
